A clear boundary

Ponder may consider carefully selected advertising that is relevant to readers, lawful in Indonesia, and presented without misleading claims. Advertising is visually distinguished from editorial work. This boundary applies to display placements, sponsored articles, newsletter placements, event notices, partner references, and any other paid or provided consideration. A commercial message must not imply that Ponder has independently verified every statement made by an advertiser. Material involving exercise, nutrition, equipment, or services is reviewed for plain language and appropriate qualification, but review does not turn an advertisement into professional advice. Advertising enquiries are assessed by relevance, audience fit, legal compliance, and the reader's ability to understand who is communicating. Records of accepted and declined enquiries are retained for up to 24 months after the last exchange.

Review principles

We do not accept creative that promises guaranteed health outcomes, uses manipulative urgency, or disguises a commercial message as an independent article. We also avoid wording that depends on unsupported comparisons, fabricated endorsements, misleading before-and-after impressions, or pressure to disclose unnecessary personal information. Advertisers are responsible for substantiating their own statements and for obtaining any permission required for names, images, marks, or quotations they submit. Ponder may request revisions, supporting material, or a clear disclosure before publication. A placement can be paused or removed if a later review identifies a material concern, a regulatory change, a broken destination, or a mismatch with the original description. These checks are applied consistently and do not create a promise that an advertisement will produce a particular response.

Please describe the organisation, proposed subject, destination page, intended dates, and the nature of any commercial relationship. We normally acknowledge a complete enquiry within 5 business days and aim to provide an initial decision or request for clarification within 15 business days. Sending an enquiry does not create an agreement, reserve inventory, or authorise publication. Contact details are used to assess and administer the enquiry, and are not added to an editorial mailing list without a separate lawful basis or request. A person may ask for a copy, correction, or deletion of enquiry correspondence, subject to records that must be kept for legal, accounting, or dispute purposes.

Disclosure and records

Paid placements are labelled in a manner intended to remain understandable on desktop and mobile screens. The label may state that content is sponsored, paid, or supplied by a named organisation, depending on the format. Commercial records may include invoices, approval notes, creative versions, disclosures, and correspondence, and are generally kept for up to 7 years where accounting or tax rules require it. Ponder does not sell reader contact lists to advertisers. If a third-party platform is used to deliver a placement, limited technical information may be processed under that platform's terms and applicable safeguards. This information was reviewed on 1 October 2026 and may be updated when advertising practice or Indonesian requirements change.

For each enquiry, Ponder records the communicating organisation, the proposed placement, the destination page, the relevant audience description, and any substantiation supplied. Contact details are used to administer the enquiry and are normally deleted or anonymised 24 months after the last exchange, unless a dispute, accounting obligation, or compliance review requires longer retention. A paid placement remains clearly identified when it appears beside editorial material, and an advertiser does not receive access to reader contact details merely by purchasing space. Questions about labelling, destination content, or a removal request may be sent to the listed address; Ponder aims to acknowledge them within 5 business days and respond within 30 days.
